When it comes to restoring a listed building in Coventry or surrounding areas, Shaws Bespoke Joinery are the local experts. We offer a comprehensive range of restoration services which are designed to sympathetically return your property to its former glory, whether it requires some simple modernisation or needs rescuing from eventual ruin. These restoration services are tailored to the specific requirements of historic or listed properties, and you can feel confident that your period property is in safe hands with our expert team.
We have been associated with this village over a number of years and have completed much of the work which includes but is not limited to the following:
#The Alms Houses
#Cottages next to the Post Office
#School known as Berkswell Primary School
#Farm Houses on the Estate
Type of work includes double glazed storm proof, flush, mock sash and sliding sash windows.
As this is a conservation area and listed buildings we had to pay particular attention to the detail and aesthetics to keep in line with what was already in situ and required by the local planning office. This sympathetic approach to historic building restoration helps to ensure that we always maintain the authentic appearance of the buildings we work on, and never compromise on remaining faithful to the original style of a property.
The Alms houses were the first and were quite a challenge as they required double glazing that would not be obvious to the naked eye. Following our hard work, the planners were very pleased with the outcome.
From the above work it then evolved into the other work we carried out on a variety of listed and historic buildings. As a result of this work we are now recommended by the Council for other conservation work and have been successful in continuing to meet their demands.
As we manufacture all of our joinery we are able to meet the requirements of our clients, including those who require conservation work for old buildings. If you are based in Coventry or elsewhere locally and need a professional helping hand with restoring or maintaining a listed building, contact our team today on 024 7644 7644 to discuss your building restoration requirements in detail.
The brief was to replace all the windows and doors but to keep the character and the stile looking the same, double glaze them without being obvious that they are double glazed. All the windows and doors were Spray finished in our spray workshop prior to being fitted by our fitters.
